scars don't fadeThe room. Dark and cold enough to see your breath. Just the way he had come to know his life. The cold made the pain almost disappear. The dark made his vision of himself all but disappear. The scars were there to remind him though. Even in the dark he would find his fingers drifting to one scar or the next. His fingers traveling back through memories as they smoothed their way over the hardened tissue.scars don't fade
The darkest shadows would never hide the scars. So he continued to count off the days hidden away, counting scars and memories.
Waiting for one or the other to fade.
